Before the Party

• Create a safe space: Set up a quiet room with your pet's bed or crate, toys and water where they can retreat if the noise or crowd becomes too much.  You can also leave on a television or radio with soft music.

• Keep routines steady: Feed, walk and play with your pet as usual before guests arrive to help reduce stress.

• Plan ahead for guests with allergies or fear of animals. You may want to limit where your pet roams during the event.
